About Us

The Fire & Life Safety Educators (FLSE) Committee is a group composed of fire department community educators from throughout the State of Illinois who share a common interest of saving lives and property. The purpose of this committee is to work collectively to promote fire and life safety awareness through program development and implementation in our communities. FLSE Committee members are active in organizing educational opportunities, conferences, and classes. This group meets monthly to help plan for the yearly IFIA Fire and Life Safety Conference and mini-seminars on various educational topics. We also discuss new and innovative ways to educate people of all ages in our communities and do our best to share them with other Fire & Life Safety Educators across the state. For further information, contact the IFIA office.

Charge into Fire Safety!

Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW™) campaign, “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” does not have to be used just during October. It works to educate everyone about using these batteries safely all year round! The campaign stresses how important it is to BUY, CHARGE, and RECYCLE safely when it comes to lithium-ion batteries.
